Price Pethel is an Academy Award winner. The recipient of the 74th Scientific & Technical Awards of 2001 and 2002 for his pioneering effort on the Nuke 2D Compositing Software. Nuke 2D allows for the creation of complex interactive digital composites using relatively modest computing hardware. A trailblazer, an inventor, an outcast, and my Great-Uncle. Price and I discuss his journey to stardom from a zero-electricity house, to working with James Cameron, the director of multiple blockbuster films, and an icon in American movie culture.
